_A_t_t_i_t_u_d_e _T_o_w_a_r_d_s _A_b_o_r_t_i_o_n

_D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n:

     The data contain responses given by 410 individuals to four out of
     seven items concerning attitude to abortion. A small number of
     individual did not answer to some of the questions and this data
     set contains only the complete cases.

_F_o_r_m_a_t:

     The 379 individuals answered to the following questions after
     being asked if the law should allow abortion under the
     circumstances presented under each item,

     _I_t_e_m _1 The woman decides on her own that she does not.

     _I_t_e_m _2 The couple agree that they do not wish to have a child.

     _I_t_e_m _3 The woman is not married and does not wish to marry the
          man.

     _I_t_e_m _4 The couple cannot afford any more children.
